    International Climate Finance Forum

    Taiwan Can Help

  • 2020 International Climate Finance Forum

Climate Finance is equally important as other measures to address climate change that has become the consensus among developed countries like the UK, Germany and EU. The convention, the Kyoto Protocol and the Paris Agreement, all call for more financial resources from parties with more financial capabilities to those that are more vulnerable. The Paris Agreement particularly emphasized that by 2020 developed countries are committed to mobilize USD 100 billion fund per year to help developing countries avoid, or reduce, or at least adapt to the effects of climate change. To highlight the importance of Climate Finance, the UK as the host country of the UNFCCC COP26 has included it in the agenda. In addition, the parties now also focus on how to revive economy after COVID-19 through green policies. Although the 2020 COP26 has been postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic, the “2020 International Climate Finance Forum” could be viewed as a platform for high-level government officers, experts from NGO and financial institutions, and those who care this issue to share or exchange opinions and promote its own climate financial policies.
